AA80.
AA80 is a passion project by me, Farrel Taylor. As I was growing up, quarantine and Covid-19 changed my life. After going through the self isolation at the beginning of the 2020 pandemic, I contemplated where I wanted my life to lead me. Due to my love for fashion I decided that something within the fashion realm was for me. After spending most of my time browsing sites and grew a love for grunge and distressed styles as seen in the art behind Jun Takahashi’s Undercover and the brand Needles.
After returning to my Grade 12 year from isolation I had only one goal. To learn how to sew. I took 3 high-school fashion classes in one year, as an attempt to broaden my style and knowledge in the art of fashion. With the help of my greatly helpful teacher and an extreme amount of dedication, I satisfied my goal.
Upcycling is also a huge part to me. Needles made a flannel called “Rebuild Flannels”. These inspired me because of their recycled nature. I think that the next generation of designers can show that recycling can be an art, and a sustainable one at that.
Now, I define AA80. It means something immeasurable to me, and I hope that one day it’ll mean something to people. My next goal, is to define just one person’s style, and spread the joy and the art behind my garments.
Constructed by yours truely,
